DTH means Direct to home service. It is a method of providing TV channels to the TVs through individual small dish antennas along with their set top boxes. With every direct to home or DTH connection of TataSky you get a unique ID available in your set top box. Use this ID when needed to recharge, change packages or to refer you by using customer care services.

You can make payments by using recharge cards easily available at consumer electronics shops. You need to use your phone to sms the code seen after scratching the card. Another way is to tell any consumer electronics shopkeeper to recharge it for you by using his phone. You just need to pay the amount of money you need to get recharged.

Payment is also flexible from few, Rs 150 per month to annual and semiannual packages which may cost up to Rs 5000 per annum. Some special facilities are also provided like showcase movies are also provided. If you want to watch a newly premiered movie on the showcase channel than you have to pay an amount of Rs 50 to watch a single movie without any break. You get repeat telecast of the same movie also but for one day period, you cannot access either the movie or channel on which you got allowed to watch movie. Other special facilities like playing online games and buying products on active malls are also available and for each service you need to pay separately.

In case of heavy rain and dense clouds the receiver stops receiving signal causing no channel to display. At places where heavy rain occurs frequently this service might not be good idea. The quality of signal also degrades during light rain.
